It surprises a lot of people when I tell them: beyond photography, I’ve spent almost my entire professional life on something I’m just as passionate about — technology. Through Softnet Sistemas, the company I’ve run for years building software for small and medium businesses, we’ve created tools that solve very concrete, everyday problems for companies in Spain.
And when you look closely, photography and software have more in common than you’d think: both are about taking something complex and solving it as simply as possible. In a photo, stripping away everything that doesn’t belong until only the essential remains. In a program, turning what used to take a whole morning into two taps.
One of the projects I’m most excited about is FicharConMovil, a time-tracking app built for teams that don’t work in a fixed office: field sales reps, technicians, hospitality, construction… people who spend the day out and about, a bit like me when I head out to shoot. The idea is simple: clocking in should be as easy as sending a message from your own phone, with nothing to install and fully compliant with the law.
If you manage a team and time-tracking gives you headaches, it might be worth a look. And if you came here for the photography, stick around: new series coming soon.
